Week roll: 24 frames, developed on your day
A week roll in Proofsheet holds 24 frames that develop on the day you pick. Shoot ordinary moments through the week, then open the darkroom for one sheet that sums it up. A reminder tells you when it is ready, and old week sheets live in the Binder.

How does it work?
Choose Week roll when you load a roll, pick the day it develops and shoot through the week. On that day the app sends a local notification. Open the darkroom, rock the tray and the week sheet comes up.
- Load a week roll and pick a film look.
- Choose the day it develops.
- Shoot through the week.
- Develop on your day.
Why a week?
One sheet a week is a small ritual: you look back at a few days at once. The wait works like leaving a roll in a drawer. A week sheet is also an easy post for a Sunday story.
Is the week roll free?
Yes. The week roll is available on the free plan, with any free film look. Pro adds custom develop times, but you can already pick the day the week roll develops without it.
Where do week sheets go?
Into the Week tab in the Binder, where old week sheets are grouped by week. Share any sheet as 9:16 or 1:1, or save it to Photos. See the proof sheet for export options.
Who is the week roll for?
People who want a gentle photo habit without taking hundreds of pictures. Twenty-four frames across a week means you choose moments, not everything. It is also a good way to try Proofsheet before you host a crew roll.
Reminders
Notifications are local to your iPhone. A roll-ready reminder and an optional mid-week nudge can each be turned off in Settings. The mid-week nudge is off by default and only appears when nothing has been shot since Monday.
What day and time does it develop?
You pick when you load the roll. A week roll defaults to the day and time you set in Settings, where new week rolls develop on a day and time of your choice. A Sunday evening is the common pick, because the sheet becomes a way to close the week.
What does the week sheet look like?
It is a proof sheet with day markers from Monday to Sunday, labeled with the week it covers. The markers show which days you photographed and which you skipped. It is saved in the Week segment of the Binder.
How do I spread 24 frames over seven days?
Three a day is the arithmetic, but nobody shoots that evenly. Keep a few frames for the weekend, shoot ordinary things such as a desk, a commute or a meal, and stop thinking about it. The limit teaches you to notice, which is the point.
- Shoot a little on the first day, so the habit starts.
- Skip the thing everyone photographs, and shoot the thing nobody does.
- Hold back about six frames for the last two days.
What if I forget to shoot?
If nothing has been shot since Monday, an optional mid-week nudge can remind you. It is off by default and can be switched on in notification settings. On the chosen day the roll develops with whatever you shot. If you want to look earlier, Develop now works at any time, and the unshot frames are lost.
Week roll, solo roll or crew roll?
Use a solo roll for a single outing, a week roll for a rhythm and a crew roll for an event with friends. A crew roll you join does not count toward the free plan limit of one active roll at a time. See crew rolls.
What does a first week look like?
Load the roll on Monday and pick Sunday evening. Shoot whenever something catches your eye. On Sunday a notification tells you the roll is in the tray. Open the darkroom, rock the phone, circle three frames and share the sheet as a 9:16 story. The next Monday you load a new roll and the cycle starts again.
Tips for a better week sheet
Shoot one frame in the morning most days, so the sheet has a rhythm. Include yourself or a friend at least once, because the sheet is a record and not only a collection of objects. Avoid retaking: with no review, the first frame is the frame.
- Keep the roll in the camera tab, so it is one tap away.
- Turn on the date stamp if you like the look of dated frames.
- Choose a look you like for the whole week, so the sheet reads as one set.
Honest limits
A week roll holds 24 frames, and that number does not change. If you want more room, load a solo roll as well. The mid-week nudge appears only when nothing has been shot since Monday, and notifications work only after you allow them.
