Crew rolls: everyone shoots, it develops at once
A crew roll is a shared roll for a party, trip or wedding. The host sends a ticket link or QR code. Each friend shoots on their own phone with the same film look, every phone develops at the same minute, and frames come back to the host, who prints one crew proof sheet.

How does a crew roll work?
The host sets a name, a film look, the frames each person gets and a develop time at least 30 minutes ahead and within 60 days. The app makes a ticket with a link and QR code. Friends join free and get the host's film look for that roll.
Joining never needs an account and is always free.
- Host sets up a crew roll and shares the ticket.
- Friends tap the link or scan the QR in the app.
- Everyone shoots on their own phone.
- All phones develop at the shared time.
- Friends tap Send to the host; the host taps Collect frames.
How do frames get back to the host?
Through the iOS share sheet, for example AirDrop or a chat app. Each frame carries a small note with the roll code, frame number and the initials the friend chose, so the host can sort them. The host picks the received photos in the system picker, and Proofsheet prints the crew sheet.
Where does the data live?
In the link. The roll settings are stored after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server. The ticket page only reads it in your browser and stores nothing. There is no backend to fail at the party.
How big can a crew sheet be?
Up to 36 frames on the free plan. Pro or an event roll raises that to 300. The cap counts frames on the sheet, not people, so a small group with many frames each and a large group with a few frames each can reach the same number. Keep frames modest if you want the sheet to stay readable.
What if a friend does not have the app?
They need it to take part. The ticket page shows the ticket and an App Store button once the app is released. After installing, they tap the link again or scan the QR in the app, since there is no server to remember them.
Ideas
Birthdays, weddings, trips and a Saturday night out all work. A team offsite or a family reunion fits too, as long as everyone has an iPhone. For wedding tips, read disposable camera app for a party or wedding.
What does the ticket contain?
The ticket is a picture and a link. It shows the roll name, the look, the frames each, the develop time and a QR code. Send ticket shares the image with a short message and the link. Show QR fills the screen with the code at full brightness, so a friend sitting next to you can scan it with the app.
What happens when a friend joins?
The app reads the ticket and shows the roll details before anything else happens.
- Open the link or scan the QR inside Proofsheet.
- Check the name, look, frames and develop time on the preview.
- Type two letters as your initials, if you want them on your frames.
- Tap Join and shoot.
What if the ticket does not work?
The app gives a plain message. If the roll has already developed, it tells you to ask the host for the crew sheet. If the link cannot be read, it asks you to request a new one. If you are already on the roll, it offers to open it instead.
What does the host see when frames arrive?
After choosing photos in the picker, the host sees how many frames from this roll were added and how many photos do not belong to it. A button called Add them anyway handles the strays. A counter shows how many frames are on the crew sheet against the cap, and Print crew sheet creates the page.
Is there a reminder before the roll develops?
Yes. By default a notice arrives one hour before the shared develop time, to prompt the last frames. It can be switched off in notification settings.
Where does it fit?
Birthdays, trips, weddings, team offsites and Saturday nights are the obvious cases. It works best when the group is small enough that everyone knows the plan, and the develop time lands the morning after, when nobody has looked at the pictures yet.
What are the limits?
Every friend needs an iPhone with the app. The develop time must be at least 30 minutes ahead and within 60 days. Frames reach the host only when friends send them, and nothing syncs in the background. The upside is that there is no server to fail and no account to forget.
Tips for the host
Say the develop time in the first line of your message. Pick a look that suits the venue light, and keep frames each modest so the crew sheet stays readable. The day after, send a reminder to share, and collect frames together in one sitting.
